BUILD-IT-YOURSELF PLANS Want to build your own bunk bed? Have the time, a few tools, and want to save money? Looking for a family project? Now you can order our plans and hardware on line. The plans are professionally prepared, computer generated, plans
for both the beginner and the more experienced woodworker. They include detailed
material lists and step-by-step instructions with drawings to illustrate each
task. I receive many letters from customers who tell me that they had never
built anything before but had no problem b The wood that you use is standard off-the-shelf type lumber that is readily available at any building material retail store. Most types of wood are acceptable. We use Southern Yellow Pine in our shop because it is attractive and readily available in our locality. All of the cuts are straight line cuts that can be done with a hand held circular power saw. There are no complicated joints to make. All of the joint connections are fastened by wood screws and lag bolts. All of the plans have been shop tested many times. The required tools are an electric powered screwdriver, sander, drill, circular saw, and a 1/2" open or socket wrench. More advanced tools, of course, can make the job go easier and faster but are not necessary. The hardware that is required can be purchased at hardware stores but we can furnish a customized complete hardware package customized for the particular model bed you wish to build. The hardware consists of black oxide coated bolts and washers, screws, wood dowel pins, heavy duty casters and other miscellaneous items not readily found in retail hardware stores. This is specialty and decorative hardware to eliminate the work of hiding shiny galvanized screw heads. This hardware costs less, in most cases, than standard hardware purchased at local hardware stores, but you will have a much nicer finish with the decorative hardware we can provide. Let us count and package the hardware and deliver it right to your door. Hardware can be ordered by clicking on the photo image of the bed desired on the Home page and selecting from the tables. Plans by email will be sent to your provided email address within hours of the time the order is placed if payment is made to a U.S. bank credit card. If payment is made by E-Check, the plans and/or hardware will be sent after the check has cleared - usually 3-5 days. All payments are through our merchant provider, Paypal. Plans by U.S. Mail will be mailed within 3-5 after the date of purchase. Hardware kits are generally shipped within 3-5 days. Please understand that we can not offer refunds or exchanges on plans that have been sent by electronic means. Refunds on plans sent by U.S. mail are offered ONLY if they are returned to us in the original UNOPENED package. For any hardware returns, the customer will be responsible for two way shipping.
